Safe buying

Experienced advice and quality assurance throughout the purchase.

Norsk Megling International holds a brokerage licence that meets EU requirements. We work with local brokers, notaries and lawyers – and Norwegian lawyers we have worked with for many years.

  1. 01

    First conversation

We map out what you are looking for – country, area, type and budget – and clarify financing early. Unresolved financing is a common reason purchases are delayed.

  2. 02

    The viewing trip

We put together viewings in the area you want to see – whether you have specific properties in mind or want suggestions.

  3. 03

    Negotiation

Let our brokers negotiate and, where possible, bring the price down for you. They know the local market and have long experience.

  4. 04

    Costs before signing

The settlement statement is prepared with notaries and lawyers, so you see every cost before you sign. Remember: property is often bought as seen, and there is no right of withdrawal as in Norway.

  5. 05

    The keys are yours

Notary, lawyer and settlement in place – we quality-assure the whole process from A to Z.

How we handle the buying process

When buying property abroad, it is important to understand that the process does not follow Norwegian standards. We quality-assure the whole buying process, know the local markets and help you get an overview before you go further.

  • We quality-assure the purchase from start to finish
  • We know the local markets
  • We help with price negotiations
  • We give an overview of costs before signing
  • We help you understand key differences from Norway

Financing

Many buyers finance the purchase with their own funds or a loan secured on their home in Norway. We recommend clarifying your financial framework early, so the process is clearer when you go into viewings and negotiations.

  • Common financing is own funds or a loan on a home in Norway
  • Clarified financing makes the process easier
  • Missing financing is a common cause of delay

Legal follow-up and settlement

Many buyers are unsure about paying the purchase price, the procedures abroad and the roles of the different parties. Settlement statements are prepared with notaries and lawyers, so you see the costs before signing. Property is often bought as seen, and there is no right of withdrawal as in Norway.

Partners

The right professionals in every country

In an international property purchase it is important to have the right professionals involved. For many clients, our partners are an important part of judging seriousness and security.
